To use Seedance 1.5 Pro, open the Video studio, where it is already the selected model, write the shot in the Prompt or add a start frame, pick the shape, Resolution and Duration, tick Sound if you want audio, and press Generate Video. A 5 second clip costs 12 credits at 480p, 25 at 720p and 55 at 1080p; Sound doubles the price.
Seedance 1.5 Pro is the ByteDance Seedance model before Seedance 2.0, and the first in the series to make sound together with video. It is the low-cost choice for drafts, portraits brought to life and product clips in volume. This guide covers its inputs, settings, prompts and prices.
What you need
- An idea for one shot, or a clear picture to start from.
- If the start frame shows a real person, use your own photo or one you have that person's permission to animate.
- A Kinoseed account and some credits. Video starts with a plan; the $10 Basic plan (500 credits a month) covers 20 five second clips at 720p without sound.
Step by step
- 1
Open the Video studio
Seedance 1.5 Pro is the default, so the Model card already shows it. The Seedance 1.5 Pro model page opens the studio the same way.
- 2
Start from text, or add a start and an end frame
Seedance 1.5 Pro works from the Prompt alone. To fix the first shot, drop a picture into Start frame under Start & end frames; add an End frame too and the clip moves from one to the other. A start frame costs the same as text: 25 credits for 5 seconds at 720p.
- 3
Pick the shape, Resolution and Duration
Choose 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1 with the shape buttons, 480p, 720p or 1080p under Resolution, and 5, 8 or 10 seconds under Duration. Use 9:16 for Reels, Shorts and TikTok. The price on the button moves with each choice.
- 4
Decide on Sound
Tick Sound to have dialogue and effects made with the picture. It doubles the price: 25 credits for 5 seconds at 720p without sound, 50 with it. Leave it off for drafts and for clips you will put music under.
- 5
Write the Prompt as one shot, then press Generate Video
Say who or what is in the frame, the one thing that happens, how the camera moves and the light. The clip lands in the feed beside the controls, ready to download, with no watermark. A failed run is refunded automatically.
Prompts to copy
Paste any of these into Video studio as a starting point, then change the details to fit your photo.
Portrait brought to life
A woman in a yellow raincoat turns toward the camera and smiles as rain falls behind her on a city street at dusk. Slow push in. Soft neon reflections on the wet pavement.
Product clip
A bottle of olive oil on a rustic wooden table, a slow orbit around it as warm morning light moves across the glass. Nothing else moves.
With Sound on
Waves roll onto a pebble beach at sunrise, a low drone shot gliding along the shoreline. Sound of the surf and gulls in the distance.
What Seedance 1.5 Pro costs
Prices per clip without sound, 5 seconds: 12 credits at 480p, 25 at 720p, 55 at 1080p. The longest and largest run, 10 seconds at 1080p with Sound, is 220 credits. Clips run 5, 8 or 10 seconds, starting at 5.

When to use Seedance 1.5 Pro, and when to move up
Use Seedance 1.5 Pro to test an idea, to animate a portrait or a product photo, and when you need many clips. Move the shot that works to a newer model when you need more complex motion or several references; see Seedance 2.0 vs Seedance 1.5 Pro and how to use Seedance 2.5.

Tips for better results
- Draft at 480p without Sound, then run the keeper at 720p or 1080p.
- One action and one camera move per clip. Two moves in a short clip tend to blur into a wobble.
- Use an End frame when the clip has to finish on a set shot, such as a product facing the camera.
- Describe the sound in a few words when Sound is on; otherwise the model picks something that fits the picture.
- For camera words models follow, see how to write AI video prompts with camera moves.
