Veo 3.1 vs Seedance 2.0

Veo 3.1 by Google and Seedance 2.0 by ByteDance, side by side: what each does, what a run costs in credits, and when to pick which. Both run on Kinoseed with one plan.

Plans from $10 a month, cancel anytime.

Veo 3.1 Prompt: Smooth 360 degree orbit around a dancer enveloped in swirling fire and embers. The flames curl around her body but do not consume her. Intense heat, bright highlights, slow motion, anamorphic.
Seedance 2.0 Prompt: Drone pull-out rising from a lone figure walking a knife-edge dune ridge, tilting up to reveal an endless desert sea. Epic scale, cinematic aerial, golden hour.

About Veo 3.1

Veo 3.1 is Google's video model, developed by Google DeepMind as an update to Veo 3. It takes a text prompt or a start image and can generate sound together with the picture.

Clips are 4, 6 or 8 seconds long in 16:9 or 9:16, at 720p, 1080p or 4K. Sound is optional and roughly doubles the price of a clip, so leave it off when you plan to add your own music in an editor.

About Seedance 2.0

Seedance 2.0 is the second generation of Seedance, the video model from ByteDance's Seed team. In Kinoseed it works from a text prompt alone, from a start frame, from a start and an end frame together, or from up to 9 reference images in a dedicated reference mode.

It renders at 480p, 720p, 1080p or 4K, in 16:9, 9:16 or 1:1, with clips of 5, 8 or 10 seconds. Sound is generated with the picture and is part of the price, so there is no separate audio charge and no reason to switch it off.
