Video generation API comparison: Kinoseed vs fal, per model
A video generation API comparison per model and per run: Kinoseed credits and dollars next to fal's list price for Kling, Veo, Seedance, Wan and more.
This video generation API comparison puts two ways of calling the same models side by side: through Kinoseed's API, and straight to fal, the provider Kinoseed runs on. For every video model it shows one run, what Kinoseed charges in credits and dollars, and fal's list price for the identical request.
Every number is computed from Kinoseed's pricing code when the page renders: the credits are what POST /quote returns, and fal's figure is the provider cost that same quote is built on. Nothing is copied from a price page by hand.

Per model, per run
Each row is the example run GET /models prices: the model's shortest clip at its first resolution, without sound, from a start frame where the model only animates images. Kinoseed dollars are at the headline $0.02 a credit, and at $0.0133 on Studio credits.

Prices follow the providers' list rates; when a rate changes, this table changes with it on the next render. Check fal's own figures on fal pricing.
Reading the gap
Across these models, a run costs 3.7 to 4.2 times fal's list price at the headline credit price, and 2.4 to 2.8 times on Studio credits. fal is the cheaper way to buy the same seconds of video, for every model in the table.
What the difference buys is everything around the run: a quote before you spend, an automatic refund when the provider fails a run, retries that cannot charge twice, outputs copied to storage, a hosted MCP server, webhooks and a web app on the same balance. The fal vs Kinoseed guide goes through who should pick which.
Longer clips, higher resolution, sound
The gap stays in the same range for longer clips, higher resolutions and sound, because both sides price from the same parameters:
- 10 seconds of Kling 3.0 with sound: 310 credits on Kinoseed (about $6.20), $1.68 at fal's list price.
- 8 seconds of Veo 3.1 at 1080p: 290 credits on Kinoseed (about $5.80), $1.60 at fal's list price.
- 10 seconds of Seedance 2.0 at 720p: 550 credits on Kinoseed (about $11), $3.02 at fal's list price.
Any other combination is one POST /quote away; the text to video API pricing guide explains which parameters move the price.

Rates marked estimated are Kinoseed's estimate of the provider cost until a price is published; the charge is still the quoted number. More on images in the image generation API with credits guide.
Other video APIs
Model makers and other hosts sell some of these models too, often in different units. Their prices change often, so this page does not repeat them; read the official pages and price the same clip there: Google Vertex AI, Runway API and Replicate.
Check any number yourself
GET /api/v1/models?kind=video returns each model's example price without a key. POST /api/v1/quote with your exact body returns the credits, the dollars at the headline rate and the endpoint the run lands on, which is the fal endpoint to look up on fal's side. See Quote and Models.
Questions
Why is fal cheaper?
Kinoseed runs on fal and adds a margin to fal's list price. The margin pays for quoting, refunds on failure, storage, the MCP server and the web app.
Which video API is cheapest?
For these models, calling fal directly. Between models, the table shows the spread; a light model at low resolution is a fraction of a flagship at 1080p.
Are failed runs included in these prices?
On Kinoseed a failed run is refunded, so the price is per delivered clip. For fal, check its documentation on how failed requests are billed.
How often does this table change?
Whenever a provider rate or the credit catalogue changes. The page is rendered from the pricing code, not edited by hand.
